What up everyone? i figured the page was looking kinda old, so why not update the whole thing? anyway, hope everyone is actually checking the site out and not just ignoring us when we tell you to check it out. We may not work on the site that much, but it is still something you guys can use to get in contact with us when the show is not on, so put it to use!
So, in the summer, a lot of things went down and a lot of changes occurred. if you are a true listener and have been down with HOSTILE ROCK for the last 2 years or so, you know i've had quite a few of people help me out in the past: Austin was the first, then fellow DJ Matt Rock helped for a while, then we had the exceptional Corey who stayed with us until he had to leave for personal reasons. Since Cory left, i've been going solo until early this summer when i met up with Jerry Clayton. Just like me, Jerry loves music, sure, i love more of the heavier stuff and he is more into the punk, but it gives the show a newer look and a more dynamic sound.
Also, this summer, I (grady) got married to my wonderful girlfriend, Tara. I want to thank all of the listeners for the love and congrats on the whole thing, it was really cool.
With a new semester beginning and new students and listeners tuning in to the show, we have decided to make a few changes to the format of the show, don't worry, it is still gonna be HOSTILE ROCK! that's not gonna change, just gonna add some more punk to the show. HOSTILE ROCK was based on heavy metal, punk, and industrial music when Tasker started it all, now we are going back somewhat to that format. The new format will go as follows:
10:00 til 11:00- new music: everything new, all the heavy stuff, whatever.
11:00 til 12:00- Jerry will take over for that hour and play everything punk and emo, so enjoy! we will have new listeners and more requests.
12:00 til 2:00- goes back to everything, all the good stuff we've been playing for the last 2 years, including requests and all that good stuff.
so, as you can read (hopefully), the show will not change dramatically. Oh yeah, to let you know, we now have a news page where you can read up on the latest in the loudest industry music has to offer. As of right now, we have the whole issue with POWERMAN 5000's scraping of their forthcoming album "Anybody for Doomsday?", news regarding the expulsion of guitarist Fallon from KITTIE and news regarding some of the coolest collaborations yet to hit the streets, so definantly check it out. There is also a tour page which will let you know where and when your favorite band is coming near us.
If there is anything you guys would like to let us know about, don't hesitate to email us. You can email us directly from this page, just scroll down until you see the hyperlinks. Please, let us know what it is that you would like for us to do, this isn't just our (jerry and i) show, we need input from all of our listening community, be heard, let us know what you like!
Hey email us and tell us what you think of the site, what you want to hear on the show, and just any idea's that you have so we can make the show and this site better

Band of the Week
Well, i guess you are wondering who we will pick as the new band of the week, or is there another band out there that can knock off SLIPKNOT? Only one name comes to mind. . . . . . . . SYSTEM OF A DOWN!
Thats right, with their sophomore effort, "TOXICITY", the four-piece band from California have knocked the nine boys from Iowa out of the top spot! With their new album, the guys from SOAD have really grown when compared to their 1998 self-titled debut.
Most of the album is politically motivated (now-a-days, whose isn't) and well put together. Producer Rick Rubin's did a wonderful job putting all of the songs together in the order he did. "Prison" is the first trak on the cd and it talks about how over-populated the prison system is today. Then you have a trak like "x" which talks about how the world is over-populated and how people need to stop pro-creating! One of the most controversial songs on the album would be the title trak, "toxicity" for the simple fact that it has something to do with Charles Manson. "TOXICITY" ends with the song "Aerials" which is a song many can compare to "Spiders" off the first album, it is slow and methodic, but then kicks in at certain moments, a great song! This cd is definitely a step up from the prior one and don't be surprised if you hear about an additional SOAD disc coming out around Christmas. the guys recorded and mixed 33 songs before narrowing down to the 14 they released on the album. Lead singer, Serj, did say that he liked all the songs the guys wrote and would like to release the other 19 on another disc. . . . . so look out!!
